Outdoor Education

The 3rd graders will go on Trails and Teambuilding day trips in Northern Nevada. Outdoor Ed will include a challenge course at Sky Tavern, a ropes course, camping at school and more!

The 5th graders will spend three nights at the Grizzly Creek Ranch Camp, Sierra Nevada Journeys, in Portola, California to explore the outdoors, hike, complete a challenge course with peers and more!

The 6th graders will spend four nights and five days in the Marin Headlands in California to explore the ocean and climate of California while learning and team building with classmates.

The 7th graders will spend four nights and five days in Lake Tahoe and Truckee, California, kayaking and hiking while team building and learning about the local wildlife and geology.

The 8th graders will explore the stunning Eastern Sierra at June Lake, paddleboarding and hiking and learning about the geography, environment, and geology of the Sierra Nevadas with Sierra STEM.

The 9th graders will spend four nights and five days in Yosemite National Park to hike, explore, and participate in valuable scientific research in and around the park famed for its waterfalls, sequoia trees and granite cliffs.

The 10th graders will spend four nights and five days on Angel Island and in Sausalito, California. The trip includes kayaking to Angel Island to explore the history and geography of California and one of its northern islands.

The 11th graders will spend four nights and five days in Tomales Bay, California, camping on the beach and kayaking through Tomales Bay. This is the trip alumni often share as the highlight of their Sage Ridge Outdoor Education experience.

The seniors will head to Ashland, Oregon and students will stay on campus at Southern Oregon University, see two Shakespearean productions and participate in unique pre-show discussions, go whitewater rafting and participate in a zip line challenge course.
