Required Documents by First Day of School

Due to the Front Office:

All students are required to have the following on file with Mrs. Laura Stephens in the Sage Ridge School Front Office at the start of a new school year:

PDF of scanned birth certificate, passport or visa
Scanned medical insurance card for student
Official immunization records (see the Nevada school required vaccination schedule here) or provide a Nevada Preschool-12th Grade Religious Immunization Exemption Certificate or a Nevada Preschool-12th Grade Medical Immunization Exemption Certificate
Completed SRS Physical Form (please note that Upper School athletes are also required to provide a completed NIAA Physical Form to Athletic Director Sierra Starbuck by August 1)

Parents can visit Mrs. Laura Stephens in the Front Office in the Sage Ridge School Webster Building with these items or scan and email them as a PDF to Mrs. Stephens.

Due Online on Compass:

Once you log in to your Compass account, if you have forms due and a checklist to review, a yellow bar will appear at the top of the webpage on your parent screen. Click on the checklist to open your student’s checklist. Each parent and guardian associated with the child’s account must sign the following:

Please review each section in the checklist and type your name to sign each form. Make sure to hit “submit” after signing each form. Once you submit a form, a confirmation of the form’s submission will appear and Compass will ask you if you’d like to fill out the next form in the checklist. Sage Ridge recommends signing all of the documents in one sitting to ensure items are completed before the start of the school year. Please note that under your student's "files and forms" a button will say "Continue" for forms that do not have signatures from all parents and guardians until all signatures have been collected. You will receive communications from Compass (Blackbaud) prompting you to finish the forms until each parent and guardian listed in your contact card with parental access has logged in with their own credentials and signed the forms.

Make sure each checklist section is completed by clicking “Checklist(s) to Review” and each form by clicking on the “Form(s) to Review” in the yellow bar. Checklists and forms need to be completed for each child at Sage Ridge School.

Outdoor Education Week Forms & Packing Lists - Waivers Due August 22

All Outdoor Education Week waivers must be signed and turned in by Friday, August 22, 2025. Students cannot participate in Outdoor Education Week if waivers are not submitted by this date.

Please read the 2025-2026 Sage Ridge School Outdoor Education Handbook and complete your Student/Family Agreement in Compass when it is live in July.

Important: In the student's medical section of Compass, "YES" for "permission to treat" is required to attend Sage Ridge activities throughout the school year (Outdoor Education Week, field trips, extracurricular activities). If you choose "NO," Sage Ridge School is not allowed to treat your student if injured or needing medical attention.

Lunch Program

Poi Boy Catering offers fresh, healthy meals that students love. Poi Boy provides nutritious, kid-approved meals, including gluten-free options, prepared and served daily by their team. They currently serve multiple schools across Northern Nevada and are known for high-quality, reliable service.

Lunch Ordering Details

Families must create an account with Poi Boy Catering and place orders directly through their website.
Orders can be scheduled by day, no weekly or monthly commitment required.
Meals are $6.50 when ordered in advance and $12 for same-day "emergency" orders, if available.
The online ordering system allows for selections up to 48 hours in advance.

Important Reminders

Check your calendar for class parties, field trips, appointments, or family days before placing orders.
Please take care to select meals that align with your child's dietary needs and allergies.
No refunds or credits are issued for missed meals.
Menus are subject to change.
In the event of a school closure (e.g. snow day), families may pick up their pre-ordered meal at Poi Boy's kitchen at 11 a.m. Please call by 9 a.m. to arrange pickup.
Need to place a same-day order? Call Poi Boy at 775-851-4709 by 9 a.m. to ensure lunch is provided.

Varsity Letter Requirements

Earning a varsity letter is a major accomplishment in the world of athletics. It is evidence that you have excelled not only on the playing field, court, or track, but also in the classroom. The requirements for earning a varsity letter vary from sport to sport. Student athletes are reminded that their varsity letter is a recognition award determined by the head coach in conjunction with administration. The varsity letter award is presented to athletes at the varsity level who have reached athletic criteria that has been set forth by Sage Ridge School. Athletes must meet the earned time criteria that is set forth for each varsity sport. Those who earn a varsity letter are awarded with a certificate and a varsity letter (first year only). Each year after that, a player lettering receives a certificate.

General Requirements for varsity awards in all sports:

Must be in good athletic and academic standing, complete the season and be eligible academically.
Injured players may receive a letter if in the opinion of the head coach he/she would have participated enough if they had not been injured, and also served the team in some capacity while injured.
Show marked improvement during the season and from the previous season.
Be of good character, a teammate, and team player.
Attend at least 90% of all practices, and participate in at least 50 % of all competitions, games, meets or matches unless excused by the coach or doctor.
Contribute to the team’s success.
Regular member of the varsity team.

Golden Scorpion Requirements

The Golden Scorpion Award is one of the highest honors a scholar-athlete can receive at Sage Ridge. Awarded to seniors who demonstrate outstanding achievement in academics, athletics, leadership, and service, it represents our school’s highest ideals.

To qualify, a student must:

Graduate with a GPA of 3.5+ (unweighted)
Have no semester grades of D or F in Grades 11-12
Complete 60 hours of community service in both Grades 11 & 12
Complete 4 AP courses with no grade below a B–
Take at least one AP in both Humanities and STEM
Earn a B+ or higher on their Senior Thesis
Participate in three athletic seasons each year for four years
Submit strong recommendations from a current teacher and senior-year coach

College Counseling Resources

Preparation for the PSAT/SAT and ACT is now available to all Sage Ridge 8th Grade and Upper School students through Revolution Prep. Revolution Prep will also offer webinars throughout the year for all Sage Ridge families on admissions testing and college planning. Upon completing a practice exam, students will receive a score report illustrating the high-impact areas to focus on for each section of the test. Families can schedule a free personalized consultation with a Revolution Prep advisor to interpret results and discuss next steps after each practice test.

After School & Student Support

After school, all students can participate in complementary sessions with their teachers for extra support Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until 4 p.m. Teachers are unavailable to meet with students on Wednesdays due to Professional Development.

Lower School After School

Join enriching after school programs like fencing and Girls on the Run
Navigators Club is available for students after school Monday through Friday until 6 p.m.
Lower School play rehearsals happen during winter after school

Check your email! Make sure Sage Ridge School newsletters and emails do not go to your spam.
Beginning Sunday, August 17, you should receive a Scorpion News every Sunday during the 2025-2026 academic year except for on the following Sundays due to breaks: October 19, November 23, December 21, December 28, February 15, and March 29.
If you are not receiving your Scorpion News emails, please contact the front office.
Once you have access to your Compass (Blackbaud) Parent account, add your phone number to your profile and opt-in for text messages. Sage Ridge occasionally sends text messages during the school year about weather delays and closings, announcements, and important reminders.

Sage Ridge Events Uploaded To Your Calendar

To automatically load the Sage Ridge School calendar into your iCal or Google calendar follow these steps and don’t miss an event, game or opportunity to show your Scorpion Spirit!

Go to the Sage Ridge website calendar page. Tap on “All Public Calendars” if you’re on mobile.
Tap on the gray and white RSS button .
Choose your calendar and athletic feed(s). Tap on the green “ICAL” button for the calendar feeds you’d like—or hover over the green “ICAL” button if you’re on your computer—and then choose preferred calendar format.
Copy the provided subscription link and upload it to your mobile calendar app.
For example, iPhone users, open your iCal app and select "Calendars" at the bottom of your screen. Then tap on "Add Calendar" in the bottom left. Tap "Add Subscription Calendar" and paste the subscription URL link copied and tap “Subscribe.” Or if you use Google Calendar, go to your desktop or laptop and open your calendar. On the left side of your screen, find “Other Calendars” and click +. Then click “From URL” and paste the subscription link provided in the previous steps from the RSS button. Then click “Add Calendar.”

Your calendar will automatically update as new events (and new event information) are added.
