Student Support

Whole-Child Support

At Sage Ridge, we believe thriving students are supported, empowered, and celebrated, and we design our student support systems accordingly.

At every grade level, we meet students where they are so they can move forward with confidence.

Lower School Academic and Character Development

Whether your child needs help navigating a tough assignment, managing emotions, or strengthening executive functioning skills, they’ll never have to figure it out alone.

Lower School students benefit from small student-to-teacher ratios in classes where individual needs can be addressed. Teachers make time to address social dynamics and build community, foster courage, respect, and integrity, and provide guidance to students on how to be the best scholars they can be

Did You Know? Small-by-design classrooms help boost academic growth, emotional well-being, and self-regulation. With fewer students, teachers can offer personalized support, so every Scorpion thrives, both individually and as part of the community.

Middle and Upper School Advisory: Connection & Care

Every Middle and Upper School Sage Ridge student belongs to a close-knit advisory group that meets regularly throughout the school year. In Middle School and Upper School, students meet with their advisor multiple times per week.

Led by a dedicated faculty advisor, these groups provide:

  • A trusted adult mentor who monitors academic and personal growth
  • A consistent, supportive peer cohort for reflection and discussion
  • Exploration of our five pillars: Scholarship, Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Community
  • Guidance on goal-setting, time management, and executive functioning strategies

Advisory is a vital touchpoint for academic, social, and emotional growth.

Learning Support & Enrichment

At Sage Ridge, student support means working in close partnership with teachers and families to ensure every learner is both challenged and championed.

Services include:

  • Enrichment opportunities for advanced learners, including placement in above grade level math
  • Individualized learning plans for students with documented accommodations
  • Executive functioning coaching: organization, planning, study skills, test prep, time management
  • Complementary after school sessions for extra faculty support through 4 p.m.

We are also proud to offer dedicated reading support. Our Reading Specialist provides small-group and one-on-one instruction tailored to each student’s needs, helping them strengthen literacy skills and build reading confidence.

Learning support isn’t a special track. It’s a resource available to all.

Counseling Services: Mental Health Matters

We care deeply about each student’s emotional well-being. Our on-campus counselor provides a safe, supportive environment for students to be heard, understood, and helped.

  • Short-term, confidential individual support
  • Individualized Compass Learning Plans for students with medical or learning diagnoses
  • Crisis response and referrals for long-term care
  • Classroom workshops on friendship, puberty, mindfulness, and more
  • Support for families navigating mental health resources
  • A calm, trusted space for students to reflect and regroup

Our counselor partners closely with faculty to cultivate a resilient, compassionate school culture.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Embedded in the Day

Social-emotional growth is not a separate program—it is woven into the Sage Ridge experience. Whether through outdoor adventures, classroom dialogue, or reflective writing, students build the heart and habits of strong, ethical leadership.

Through SEL, students learn to:

  • Build empathy, navigate friendships, and resolve conflicts
  • Set goals and develop a growth mindset
  • Reflect on their identity, emotions, and behavior
  • Show courage and compassion in real-world situations
  • Take ownership of their learning and personal development

SEL at Sage Ridge helps students grow not just as scholars, but as confident, thoughtful contributors to their communities.

Parent Partnership: We’re In This Together

At Sage Ridge, we believe education is a partnership and supporting students means supporting families.

  • After-school options available until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday

We work closely with families because we know a Scorpion’s future is built on partnership.

Every Student. Every Day.

Student support at Sage Ridge isn’t a one-size-fits-all program.

It’s a personalized, ongoing commitment to helping each child thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
