Jan. 12, 2026 Letter from Next Head of School
Dear Team Sage Ridge School,
It is with great excitement that I write to you as the newest member of the Sage Ridge School community. My name is Bill Delbrugge, and I am deeply honored to serve our school community as the next Head of School. I could not be more energized about the year ahead and the incredible educational journey we will continue together.
From my very first conversations with members of the Sage Ridge Board and community, it was immediately clear that this is a school defined by purpose, passion, and people who truly care about one another. Sage Ridge has a proud and inspiring history, built by thoughtful leadership, outstanding educators, supportive families, and remarkable students. That strong foundation positions us perfectly to continue being a beacon of high quality private education. Our determination to encourage our student scholars to be ambitious is the pledge of Sage Ridge School. Our coursework, from Grade 1 through Grade 12, provides real world and thought-provoking opportunities for raising student achievement. We foster our student scholars’ desire to achieve their highest goals, and to empower them with the intellectual resources to achieve it. We want our students to take a question that is really compelling in the world or in their lives and have many tools with which to help them answer it.
Our mission at Sage Ridge is to graduate curious, confident citizens who embrace rigorous scholarship, respect the dignity of others, act with integrity, embody courage, and cultivate a compassionate community. This mission reflects what I believe education should be at its very best: the powerful combination of academic excellence, character development, service, and purpose, all working together to prepare students to make a positive impact on the world.
I believe the true purpose of education is to develop student scholars who unite intellectual curiosity, perseverance, and strong academic ability with compassion, integrity, and a commitment to serving others. In every great school I have been fortunate to be a part of, I have seen that when high expectations are paired with heartfelt care, students do more than achieve, they thrive. They grow into confident learners, courageous thinkers, and principled leaders.
Sage Ridge School provides rigorous, relevant, and thought-provoking learning experiences that challenge students to think deeply, ask compelling questions, and engage meaningfully with the world around them. Our students are encouraged to aim high, think boldly, and develop the tools they need to turn curiosity into understanding and ideas into action. This is achieved because Sage Ridge educators are deeply loved and respected. Not only for their expertise in the classroom, but for the mentorship, care, and genuine relationships they build with student scholars every single day. That commitment to students is the heartbeat of this school, and it is what makes Sage Ridge truly exceptional.
As we look to the future, our shared purpose is clear. We are here to guide our student scholars as they devote their talents, creativity, and compassion to making the world a better place. Our Scorpions will one day develop new ideas, technologies, and solutions to address the challenges of today and tomorrow. They will become thinkers, innovators, and leaders who shape a brighter future, and they will do so because of the inspiration, support, and belief they receive from this extraordinary educational community.
As we begin this exciting new chapter, please know that my door will always be open. I look forward to meeting each of you to listen, to learn, and to dream together about what lies ahead. The future of Sage Ridge School is incredibly bright, and I cannot wait to continue our journey of educational excellence together. Go Scorpions!
